All the grandkids are waiting in the van. We’re all heading off to the airport to do a family thing Well, all the kids except for my only nephew, Vincent.

Aftr a few minutes, Vincent comes rushing into the van sporting his new reading glasses. All the kids are surprised by this and started calling him “Harry Potter.” Derek is not exempted. He tells me: “Look, Mom! It’s Harry Potter!”

Vincent gamely removes his glasses in debonair fashion and Derek plays along: “Huh?! It’s Kuya Vincent! LOL

Vincent looks at me and tells me, “Now I know how Clark Kent feels like.” LOL

….I was on my way out of the office ….. and then a thought came to mind and an almost instantaneous response from the universe. It felt happy and at peace, and it took me a while to articulate the moment. I took me a while to get it into words as a really wanted to share this with you, and here is my attempt…

I thought – “Through the many years that I have known and loved you, each of us has led the most interesting of lives, faced the most challenging of situations, and has taken the most unlikely of routes – yet here we are – we still managed a way to find each other.”

Then with that thought and of you filling my heart, I threw it out to the universe. I got my response back pretty quickly – it just said “There will be time…”

I spent four days in Tokyo and I had a great difficulty getting in touch with my kids. I knew they were ok and that they would have to learn how to cope with Mommy being away.

My return flight arrived almost midnight (Manila time). I knew the boys would try to wait for me.

I came into the bedroom and the lights were still on. They did wait up for me but drowsiness took over them. Derek heard me come in though. He got up, walked up to me and tells me. “Oh, Hi, Mom! You’re beautiful.” He hugged me, went back to bed and covered himself under the sheets.

Is that the best comeback greeting, or what?!!!
