I never fail to appreciate J-Music. Be it J-Pop, J-Jazz, J-New Age, J-Rock and J-R&B. Each Japanese CD recorded is an exemplary piece of work. The production work is so crisp that you know they put their heart and soul into their work. You can really feel the talent and artistry behind the music.
Anyway, Wings of Words by Chemistry, is an old song I found ages ago. About 3 years ago. It was the opening theme for Gundam Seed Destiny. I know very little Japanese (as in almost nil) so I had no idea what this song meant but the groove is always great for the ears.
I found the song’s English translation only recently so I finally know now what it means.
AFTER 3 YEARS!…
I’m a believer that everything happens for a reason. Learning the meaning of the lyrics came at an appropriate time for me. I guess I needed to realize something.
I was recently on the verge of losing a very dear friend. I was torn between shutting my doors forever to save my ego or to be a victim in order to keep my friend close. Because of this song, I chose neither. I chose to move forward independently but not alone. Forgive and forget every bad thing and just remember the happy memories.
People change for different reasons and move on to different directions. They change not because of you but because of something that they need to go through. A real friend would not stop the other from learning what they need to learn. Sometimes, being a great friend allows the other as much freedom they need even if it means changing and being apart, maybe forever.
And yes, things may change between us but I shall remain your friend. I offer words of comfort should you need me. Whenever you’re happy, do spare a good thought for me…..Until then, I pray that I may see you again, my friend.
