I grew up with Robert Downey, Jr. I have always seen him as a brilliant actor. He was one of those “lost” artists who couldn’t find his grounding in spite of his genius. He can play them all effectively: a drug addict (no pun intended), a gay man, a comedian, leading man or supporting role. He had an on-screen presence that eats up the rest of the cast. But his personal struggles always got the best of him. You know the rest of the story….
And now, much more mature and more buff, I might add, is Robert as the Iron Man!. He has finally given himself a clean slate from dependency issues and you see a Robert Downey. Jr. who has got it all together.
Iron Man is the last role I expected to see him portray but I know that Robert never fails to deliver. It would be a fresh change to see in a role that requires little introspection; a little load off the brains. :-D I can’t wait for it to hit the theaters!
