Eckhart Tolle and Jenny McCarthy on Maternal Guilt

I’ve been reading the transcripts on Oprah’s webcasts of A New Earth - Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose with the author himself, Eckhart Tolle’.
I had his first book, The Power of Now, a few years back but it didn’t make a dent in my consciousness. I guess I was not ready at that time and I just shelved it way high on my book shelf. Yet lately, I’ve been such an inkdrinker; I’ve been reading 2 to 3 books a day. Catching up on all the books I had previously bought but couldn’t find time to read and every 3 days, I find myself in Fully Booked or in Power Books, searching for literary inspiration. I glanced (not looked) for a mere 2 seconds at this book and I took it from the shelf with no second thought. I’ve been having a long spat of depression lately and it felt like it would never go away; that was until I came across this book.
I didn’t buy it because it had Oprah’s Book Club sticker on it. I didn’t buy it because of Eckhart Tolle. I didn’t buy it because I was looking for purpose in my life. I didn’t even bother to check the price tag. It just called to me. The timing of this book was perfect as I found almost instant relief from all the drama that’s been happening around me.
Oprah.com had setup a webinar to discuss the chapters of this book. Over 3 million all over the people log on every monday night via Skype.
The Chapter 4 transcripts had Jenny McCarthy as a online querent. As we all know, Jenny is also a mother of an ASD kid. I wanted to share her segment on maternal guilt and I wanted to feel (not know) your thoughts on it. Like other mothers out there, Jenny had judged herself and took it so much on her for thinking that she practically handed her son to autism. There are no wrong nor right answers here but some of them may resonate with the thoughts of others. I leave it to Eckhart to explain this part of the ego. Click here to read that segment.
If you want to read the full transcripts, they can be downloaded and videos can be viewed for free on www.Oprah.com. There is another segment on the same chapter about children and tantrums. I know a lot of mothers out there would be interested in reading it.
Peace!

I had the same experience with Eckhart’s book as you did. It called to me, too, and after reading a few pages of it in the bookstore, my spirit was joyful and alive, knowing that finally there was a message that speaks with clarity and straight from the one Source. I bought it immediately and my life has been transformed ever since.
Blessings to you.
Double the blessings back to you hihihi….
