April 2 is UN World Autism Awareness Day!
To celebrate the day, here’s a few things you can do for your autistic loved one:
-
Think of a wonderful and hopeful thought about your autistic child, relative, or friend. Appreciate their genius and do not think about their oddities, for once.
-
Wear an autism advocacy apparel or accessory.
-
Show your appreciation for the members of his or her team: the speech pathologist, the occupational therapist, the developmental pediatrician, the special ed teacher, the caregiver, etc.
-
Send an email or SMS to your social network about WAAD.
-
Spend lunch or a playdate with other ASD parents. Avoid the drama and just enjoy the day.
-
Spend a special “alone time” with your autistic loved one.
-
Stim along with them and enjoy it.
-
Do not look at their monitoring sheets today

Great ideas, hyprsts! Can I borrow them to repost in my blog (with credit to you)? And do we have an official Philippine Autism Awareness contribution to these worldwide efforts?
Hey, Sis! Sure you can repost. You can even add if you like. These are just some of the things ASP cooked up at last minute but this morning SM, once again, showed support by blocking a free performance from Tumtum Mendoza at The Block’s activity center tomorrow. Just like that.
Im stimming!!
