Coincidentally, it’s my father’s 75th birthday. As of Manila Time, that is. He was born on September 26.
He’s still going strong. When you look at him, he looks 15 years younger than his real age. He still has passion in his eyes. He still wants to do a lot of things for his fellow mariners and for the environment.
I’m a Daddy’s Girl. I’m sure you can tell. My Dad hardly speaks about our problems at home but we connect very well even without exchanging words. I’m really proud of my Dad. He’s done so much for others in his industry to lay out better lives for them. Because of his passion for justice, he has made some enemies but in the end, I know deep in my heart that his small yet numerous triumphs are quiently appreciated and will be duly recognized in the future….
I don’t have a music video about my father (Bummer!) but this YouTube video of Team Hoyt will suffice. Team Hoyt is a father and son triathlon team. The interesting twist about this team is that the son has Cerebral Palsy. He has no control of his movements, save for his head. If you can’t imagine how they did it, this music video will show you how they did it together.
I post this video not just for fathers but everyone out there who is overwhelmed with ASD, or for any disability for that matter. We have our days of trials but in the end, the Higher Power, or The Source, if you will, will lead us to the glorious path for as long as we keep ourselves aligned to the Universe.
I know, easier said than done
but very much worth it.
